Here's one we are so excited about! Everyone in our family has loved seeing all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies and now On Stranger Tides is coming out May 20th in Disney Digital 3D!

BURBANK, Calif. (April 4, 2011) – Disneynature’s plans to work with the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) to “Save the Savanna” have gone viral. 

 

As the April 22 opening of the awe-inspiring “African Cats” approaches, Disneynature is tapping into the true power of social media by building awareness of its “See ‘African Cats,’ Save the Savanna” program. During the film’s opening week (April 22-28), a portion of the proceeds from that week’s ticket sales will be donated to AWF through the Disney Worldwide Conservation Fund to protect the Amboseli Wildlife Corridor, a passage between the Amboseli, Tsavo West and Chyulu Hills National Parks that is frequently used by lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras, giraffes and a host of other animals in the African savanna.

Silk For Milk Challange - Day 3

So far so good. On Day 3 I wanted to try the Chocolate Silk in my coffee. I love chocolate in my coffee and it's a trick I do all the time, though my family thinks it makes a mess of the travel mug I carry, it's still delicious!

I know it may not be imaginative, but it's what I do; combining two favorites, coffee and chocolate. Yummy. If you have never done this I highly recommend it. Experiment and you just may be able to come up with a recipe that comes close to your favorite Starbucks that will save you tons.

Usborne - Where We Shop For Kids Books

If you have little ones in the house then you need to take a peek at Usborne Children's Books! They have a fabulous selection of reading books for kids of all ages, and they also have a selection of books if you plan on homeschooling your children that are amazing!

First let me say that we are not affiliated in any way with Usborne books nor is this a sponsored post. I just wanted to tell you about the finds that we pick up from them for the girls because I know you'll love them too. Yah, I know free publicity, but when I see a good thing I want to tell people about it.

Look at this cute one we recently got from Usborne. The Complete Book of Farmyard Tales by Stephen Cartwright and Heather Amery. The girls love this book. It has a little duck that is hidden on every page and the girls, especially Amelie love to see if they can find the little hidden ducky. It's a challenge for them and they get so excited when they find him that it just make me laugh. The story is cute too and they love listening to it. It's one that we will be reading a lot.

At the top of every page is a short sentence that will help in early reading for the little ones. Just simple and short that they can read for themselves and be a part of the story telling time. So it's a good early reader. I recommend picking up this one for your little ones if you plan on homeschooling them or even if you're just looking for a good book for story time.

Silk For Milk - Day 2

Day Two - I couldn't wait to try the Chocolate! I'm a chocolate fiend you know, so anything chocolate just tickles my fancy to no end. So I picked some up to try. Mmmmm so yummy! It really takes care of those chocolate cravings and is good for me too! Now this is something I could get use to drinking on a daily basis!

It's so good that you have to try it for yourself if you are a chocolate fiend like me, or even if you're not. Truly, it's delicious!

Who Do You Think You Are?

In the most recent episode of NBC's "Who Do You Think You Are" sponsored by Ancestry.com, Gwyneth Paltrow searches both sides of her family tree to find evidence supporting family stories of a family member coming from Barbados and a long family line of Rabbis.

Discovering what made her great great grandmother leave Barbados at a young age bring revelations of changing times when slavery is abolished.  Gwyneth also finds the well respected Rabbis in her father's lineage so both stories prove to be true to some extent.  I think that the most important discovery for Gwyneth is how important family is and how specific character traits come through the long years of generations.

It's so exciting watching these people find their roots. You will find yourself cheering for them when they make an exciting discovery recorded in historical records, or long lost diaries.  You cry with them when they find a family member who suffered through hard times.   You also learn a little more about this famous person taking the journey which brings them just a bit more closer to being a regular person just like you, instead of an untouchable star.  I love watching this show and hope it will always stay in NBC's lineup.  Just my opinion.

I was lucky enough to receive 2 10oz samples of Welch's 100% Grape Juice and my first thought was to share it with the girls Moyra and Amelie who love Welch's Grape Juice!  So we planned our own "Paint It Purple" project for them to do and drink their Welch's Grape Juice at the same time.  Of course painting with a 3 and 4 year old requires some work for mom is getting the supplies ready because they each have to have their own paints and brushes along with paper to paint on.  Mom was right on target in getting everything ready.

Of course Purple is a favorite color for these little girls so it was pretty easy to get them enthusiastic about a purple project right from the go.  I first thought I would have the girls gather all their toys with purple color, but there were so many that we decided to paint a purple picture instead.  These girls take their painting very seriously as you can see in the photos.

And for 3 year old Amelie and 4 year old Moyra these pictures turned out pretty cool!  Perhaps starting them early on drinking Welch's 100% Grape Juice will keep them wanting it in their later years so they will continue to stay heart healthy.  After all, when the heart is healthy the rest of the body will be more healthy too.
