Mommy, Daddy, and River On Their Trip To London & Paris
I received an email that I wanted to share to let you know how things were going with Mommy, Daddy, and baby River across the waves. They left the house yesterday at noon and took a flight out of Denver with a three-hour layover in Chicago then on to London. They arrived in London last night and were pretty tired. Here is an update from them:
Our phone isn't working. We're not sure why...we emailed Verizon, but have not yet received a response. How are things at home? Are the little girls doing alright? Did Zach stop his pyrotechnics or burn the house down?(Another Story for later) Is Kirsten surviving her breakup from Jon? How is dad feeling?
Today we arrived and checked into our beautiful B&B. It's called The Coach House and is just lovely. The little house and furnishings are so pretty, and we're separated from the main house by a beautifully landscaped and furnished garden. the owners Harley and Meena are so kind and wonderful. Harley spent quite a bit of time with us when we got here giving us directions, providing us with street and underground/subway maps. The driver met us at the airport with a "Brown" sign...it was very nice. He informed us that Guy Fawkes' name is indeed pronounced Guy...not "gee"...so we were pronouncing it correctly, whew! We're looking forward to tomorrow's activities - there are some early celebrants setting of fireworks (we can hear them from our room now) just like the Fourth of July in the states. It's my understanding that they'll be celebrating all weekend, although we won't participate on Saturday due to Witchfest, and we'll be heading out to Glastonbury on Sunday.
We rode the "tube" or underground/subway a few stops away from here and saw the Wellington Arch. It's quite a stunning monument. We had supper in a nice pub, and we tried some new English cuisine. The waitress was jovial and we really enjoyed our time there. It was relaxing after our big journey and long day. We took a black taxi home, since we're pretty pooped and weren't really up to the walking and the tube after our big day.
I'm ready to sleep now, if we can get River to accommodate us. Oh by the way...we received A LOT of compliments about her on the planes, especially the international flight. Several passengers came to tell me what a good baby that she was an a good mommy that I was, for taking such excellent care of her that she hardly fussed at all (unlike the other children on board the flights, some of whom cried most of the journey). I'm so thankful to be nursing.
