Lee - A Life Of Virtue by John Perry
If you are thinking Ahh Lee the general who fought for slavery; you would be wrong in that. Lee himself was against slavery and thought it an abomination. His reason for serving as a General in this conflict was States rights to govern themselves. Not unlike many thoughts today. He felt honor bound to defend his home state of Virginia.
General Robert E. Lee was a man well respected by those in the North and South both before and after the war's end. A man devoted to God, Family, Country, and State who walked tall in confidence and stature. There is so much more I could say here, but my hope is that you will pick up a copy of Lee-A Life of Virtue by John Perry and get to know this man yourself. I highly recommend it! I'm truly thankful that I got a chance to review this book from Booksneeze. It's one I'll keep in our Library and share with the family. I definitely give it 5 stars!

Who Do You Trust In When Times Are Tough?
Received in an email with permission to share:
ALL I CAN SAY ABOUT THIS IS WOW !!!!!
RECENT VIRGINIA CHURCH SERVICE - STIMULUS SERMON
Genesis 47:13-27
I would love to give the Pastor of this predominantly black church in Virginia a hug and a high five. This guy is obviously a leader.
Perhaps we should each decide who our real leader is.....It is amazing to see that very little has changed in 4,000 years.
---------------------------------------------------
Good morning, brothers and sisters; it's always a delight to see the pews crowded on Sunday morning, and so eager to get into God's Word. Turn with me in your Bibles, if you will to the 47th chapter of Genesis, we'll begin our reading at verse 13, and go through verse 27.
Brother Ray, would you stand and read that great passage for us? .....(reading)...
Thank you for that fine reading, Brother Ray. So we see that economic hard times fell upon Egypt , and the people turned to the government of Pharaoh to deal with this for them. And Pharaoh nationalized the grain harvest, and placed the grain in great storehouses that he had built. So the people brought their money to Pharaoh, like a great tax increase, and gave it all to him willingly in return for grain. And this went on until their money ran out, and they were hungry again.
So when they went to Pharaoh after that, they brought their livestock -their cattle, their horses, their sheep, and their donkey - to barter for grain, and verse 17 says that only took them through the end of that year.
But the famine wasn't over, was it? So the next year, the people came before Pharaoh and admitted they had nothing left, except their land and their own lives. "There is nothing left in the sight of my lord but our bodies and our land. Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for food, and we with our land will be servants to Pharaoh." So they surrendered their homes, their land, and their real estate to Pharaoh's government, and then sold themselves into slavery to him, in return for grain.
What can we learn from this, brothers and sisters?
That turning to the government instead of to God to be our provider in hard times only leads to slavery? Yes.. That the only reason government wants to be our provider is to also become our master?
Yes.
But look how that passage ends, brothers and sisters! Thus Israel settled in the land of Egypt , in the land of Goshen . And they gained possessions in it, and were fruitful and multiplied greatly." God provided for His people, just as He always has! They didn't end up giving all their possessions to government, no, it says they gained possessions! But I also tell you a great truth today, and an ominous one.
We see the same thing happening today - the government today wants to "share the wealth" once again, to take it from us and redistribute it back to us. It wants to take control of healthcare, just as it has taken control of education, and ration it back to us, and when government rations it, then government decides who gets it, and how much, and what kind. And if we go along with it, and do it willingly, then we will wind up no differently than the people of Egypt did four thousand years ago - as slaves to the government, and as slaves to our leaders.
What Mr. Obama's government is doing now is no different from what Pharaoh's government did then, and it will end the same. And a lot of people like to call Mr.Obama a "Messiah," don't they? Is he a Messiah? A savior? Didn't the Egyptians say, after Pharaoh made them his slaves, "You have saved our lives; may it please my lord, we will be servants to Pharaoh"?
Well, I tell you this - I know the Messiah; the Messiah is a friend of mine; and Mr. OBAMA IS NO MESSIAH! No, brothers and sisters, if Mr. Obama is a character from the Bible, then he is Pharaoh. Bow with me in prayer, if you will...
Lord, You alone are worthy to be served, and we rely on You, and You alone. We confess that the government is not our deliverer, and never rightly will be. We read in the eighth chapter of 1 Samuel, when Samuel warned the people of what a ruler would do, where it says "And in that day you will cry out because of your king, whom you have chosen for yourselves, but the LORD will not answer you in that day.."
And Lord, we acknowledge that day has come. We cry out to you because of the ruler that we have chosen for ourselves as a nation. Lord, we pray for this nation. We pray for revival, and we pray for deliverance from those who would be our masters. Give us hearts to seek You and hands to serve You, and protect Your people from the atrocities of Pharaoh's government.

Tropical Traditions Coconut Water Vinegar Review & Giveaway!
The health benefits of vinegar have been known for hundreds of years now, but the benefits of coconuts have in comparison only been known about here in the west for a short time. Thanks to Tropical Traditions who is not only providing organic and healthy products made from coconuts but for also educating us about their benefits and uses known through out the world for years.
Made using Organically grown Muscabado whole cane sugar in it's fermentation to make vinegar the Tropical Traditions Coconut Water Vinegar loses none of the nutrients and minerals because it is not heat processed like commercial vinegars you find. Nor does it use white processed sugar like you find in commercial vinegars. The Muscabado whole cane sugar which gives it it's golden color is used up in the unpasteurized fermentation process leaving you with a vinegar containing no sugar content but all of the minerals as well as electrolytes too feed the body and keep it hydrated.
You can make a cool and refreshing drink using 1 to 2 tsp. of Tropical Traditions Coconut Water Vinegar in an 8 oz. glass of water. A very healthy way to stay refreshed if you ask me. This is how I'll be using it. Of course I'll be making a vinaigrette to use on salad as well. Or use it in numerous other recipes that require vinegar. Check out the many free recipes available at Tropical Traditions.
Tropical Traditions is generously giving one of my readers their own 32oz. bottle of Coconut Water Vinegar to use in their recipes! To enter just take a look at the recipes and tell me one you would like to try, unless of course you already have a recipe you love, then tell me what that is for. Be sure to include a valid email address or have it readily available in your profile so that I can contact you if you are the winner.

Let's take the long way home by Gail Caldwell
Written as a memoir of her dearest friend Caroline Knapp, Gail Caldwell touches a part of us all as she relates their meeting over a kinship with dogs. Both writers who have a tendency to be loners who hibernate in their own worlds by choice. Gail and Caroline share their love of the water-one by swimming the other by canoeing teaching eachother the skills necessary to if not compete then at least enjoy their sport.
Let's Take The Long Way Home will touch us all as it relates to the loss of a dearest friend as Gail helps Caroline through her acceptance of cancer in her final days. The question of how we cope with a loss so important to our very being and how each of us memorializes that friendship or relationship of our lost loved ones takes on a whole new scope in this touching book.
I know how difficult it is for all of us to cope with death - more so for those of us left behind. I highly recommend reading Let's Take The Long Way Home by Gail Caldwell. On sale now.

Munchie Mug For Your Toddler's Snack Time Review & Giveaway!
Unfortunately toddlers aren't always hungry at meal times and so trying to get food into them can be not only a chore at times, but most inconvenient at other times. Now there is Munchie Mug to help you with snacks so you can be sure your toddler is eating something that's good for them when they are hungry.
The Munchie Mug is great for snacking in the car on road trips because it helps to keep things clean inside the car. It's also great for those in-between meal times when the tots could use a little extra or when dinner isn't quite ready but the little ones are.
We recently got a chance to try the Munchie Mug for ourselves and I was delighted to see it had a screw on lid to keep snacks fresh along with the Munchie lid top for the kids to reach in and get their snack. It's pretty great that all you have to do is change the lid and put it up in the cupboard/or fridge for next time they need a snack.
The girls had no trouble figuring out how to get the snacks out of the Munchie Mug. I just handed it to them and they knew by instinct. I also loved the little handle that they can use to carry the Munchie Mug around with them. It's nice having a snack mug that won't spill everything all over the house when you give it to the kiddos. I put gold fish in their Munchie Mug this first time, but I know it would be great for carrot sticks, cheese sticks, so many things.
Of course teaching them to share was another story and took a bit of explaining to them on how to accomplish this. They both wanted to hold it for themselves. Moyra would reach in and grab snacks and hand them to Amelie but Amelie wasn't having it. She wanted to hold it and get her own snacks and I can't say I blame her. I had them take turns. The best solution is to just pick up another Munchie Mug so they each have their own.
The Munchie Mug is Phthalate and BPA Free and is available in blue, yellow and pink and retails for $15.95 which includes shipping and handling to anywhere in the U.S.
.
Win It! Munchie Mug has graciously offered to give one of my readers their own Munchie Mug for their kiddos snack time! To Enter: Tell me what kind of snack you would use your Munchie Mug for. Be sure to include a valid email address in your comment or have it readily available in your profile so that I can contact you if you are the winner.
