Ecostore USA Laundry Products Review & Giveaway!

We have one person in our family who has very sensitive skin and can get a sever case of rashes, and hives when we use a detergent or fabric softener or brightener with harsh chemicals which is why we try to avoid them at all cost. It's for Kirsten's sake because her getting a rash from detergents can be miserable for her and mean an entire evening up late at night trying to make her feel better and her having to take antihistamines.

That's why I was thrilled to be able to try Ecostore USA! The Laundry Powder is entirely mineral and plant based so I know it is all natural and it is concentrated so you use less than other powder detergents which means you save money. There are no added filler which means your clothes come out cleaner in the wash and the fibers stay stronger and last longer.

And the cleaning results are just as effective. I was very pleased with how clean the clothes came out of the wash.

The Ecostore Naturally Active Pure Oxygen Whitener was another Ecostore product that I tried and I am thrilled with it! It is so much safer to use than chlorine bleach and removes stubborn stains like a pro! I was very happy with the way it removed the greying that had occurred with some of hubby's T-shirts and I can't wait to try it on the new baby's things when she gets here in April!

How would you like to try these for yourself?! Well, how about a $25 Gift Certificate so you can pick out the products you want to try? Yes, Ecostore USA is generously giving one of my readers a $25.00 Gift Certificate!

Tropical Traditions Organic Hulled Millet Whole Grain Gluten Free Review & Giveaway

For wholesome meals to make for your family you should be looking to Tropical Traditions. You have heard me rave about Tropical Traditions before and I still am. Thanks to Sandra and The Product Review Place I was able to try out Tropical Traditions Organic Hulled Millet Whole Grain - Gluten Free.

People around the world have been using Millet in their cooking for centuries and it is quite common among may countries. Millet was mentioned in the Bible and was used to make bread. It was also the dominant grain used in China before rice became their staple. In Africa and India it is made into a thin flat bread for meals.

This delicious grain is high in protein and is great to cook up as a cereal, add as a side dish, or add to other dishes like salads or soups. It cooks quickly and can even be added into your stuffing. It is nearly 15% protein, contains high amounts of fiber, B-complex vitamins including niacin, thiamin, and riboflavin, the essential amino acid methionine, lecithin, and some vitamin E. It is particularly high in the minerals iron, magnesium, phosphorous, and potassium.

The flavor is very mild and if you cook it as a cereal you can add blueberries or another fruit to your liking. We though prefer to use it in soups to add body and the needed protein to our soups. The flavor of millet is enhanced by lightly roasting the grains in a dry pan before cooking; stir constantly for approximately three minutes or until a mild, nutty aroma is detected.

If millet is presoaked the cooking time is shortened by 5 to 10 minutes. You can sprout it to use in salads and sandwiches. Though I haven't started any sprouts yet this year, I think I may try this. We try to start sprouts in the winter months and love the flavor they add to salads so this will be a new one and I am anxious to try some Millet sprouts.

Here is a picture of my daughters Cheesemaker's Potato Soup that she made adding a bit of Millet. It is hearty and wholesome and delicious! You can add it to any type of soup you like for added nutrients and flavor or add it to your favorite bread recipe. Tropical Traditions has many Free Recipes you can use that are wonderful!

Want to try some for your family? Tropical Traditions is generously giving one of my readers their own 5lb bag of Organic Whole Grain Hulled Millet!

To enter just visit Tropical Traditions and tell me one other product you would love to try. Baby News

Remember this? The guy in this photo is Haydn who is almost entirely surrounded by females in his house.

Yes, there is the teen boy Zach who is seventeen and it won't be long before he is away at college.
But then there is Amelie

and Moyra,

Kirsten

and Mommy so I know he had to be hoping for a boy to come along. It seems natural for guys to want a son.

But alas, the news this past week is another baby girl is on the way and due April 12, 2010 to arrive and join our family. No worries, Haydn is still smiling at having another baby girl. We love babies of any gender and can't wait for this new little blessing to come along.

I have been stocking up on baby items for her and mommy for just that day. Of course there are still things we'll need. A new toddler bed is needed, preferably bunk toddler beds so we can pass down the crib to the new baby. It will all be here so soon and even though we try to prepare, there is always something else needed for a new arrival. We are so excited!

Jack Clamp only $44.99 at Lowell Thomas.

The Stone House-Finally

It looks like we will finally be moving this old trailer over to the Stone House next weekend. So, we are spending this weekend getting it ready to move the two miles down the road. I am really excited because it's the next big step and will enable us to work on the Stone House daily if we chose because we will be right there.

Yes, this ugly thing is what hubby and I will live in while we finish the Stone House or at least until be can be somewhat comfortable in The Stone House. And then it will be demolished for scrap. It's just too old and the county has asked us to to that. That is if the road don't become muddy with slush before then. Say a prayer that the snow will hold off until after we move the trailer.

More news later....

I'm A Scrooge Grandma This Christmas

Yep I'm gonna be a meany this Christmas to my littlest grand-daughters. I have already told my daughter that I am not buying any toys for the Babies this year for Christmas. They have so many toys right now and there is really no place to put the ones they have not to mention any future toys. So I'm not doing it. I'm just not buying them toys this year!

Thankfully daughter agrees with me and is ok with it. Usually once or twice I day I go around picking up their toys for my daughter because with her pregnant belly and not feeling well it's very hard for her to do. The girls have a tiny, tiny room and there is really no room to put in storage for their toys. They keep a bin for toys in the living room which is overflowing and a cubby space in a shelf unit there too which also is overflowing with stuffed animals and books. They would love to expand the house and add on another bedroom for the girls, but just can't swing it financially right now.

We have talked about putting some of their toys away and just bringing out a few at a time for them to play with as a solution, if we can find room to store them. Things are already pretty tight with Mom and Dad, a teenage Boy, a teenage Girl, and two little girls and now a new baby is due April 12. It's gonna get rough.

So, I've put my foot down and am going to be a Scrooge Grandma(Baba) this Christmas.

Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments Review /Giveaway

Each year at Christmas Hallmark brings available to the public a fabulous array of Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments and this year is no exception. I was lucky enough to be able to review one of their ornaments this year and I must say the quality is unbelievable! I have always been a fan of Hallmark and their ornaments are just one of the many reasons why.

Did you know they have 300 ornaments available in their collection?! There is absolutely something for everyone on your holiday shopping list. From pet owners to newborns and special collectors series as well.

I was sent the "B" is for Babies (and Booties) ornament for Baby's First Christmas through Gather and it is adorablee! Tiny white porcelain baby booties with silver dots in the shape of raised snowflakes, tied together with pearls and a silk ribbon stamped with Baby's Firs Christmas and a silver 2009 date charm all ready to hang on the tree for your baby's first Christmas! A precious treasure to cherish forever for your child. Hang it on the tree every year and when your child is grown and moves away, you can pass it on to them to hang on their own Christmas tree each year.

Not only are Hallmark ornaments special but they tend to increase in value every year so it truly is an investment. I have a girlfriend to runs to Hallmark every year to collect the latest Hallmark Christmas Ornaments. So I am sure there are other that do this too. You'll want to be sure to stop in at your local Hallmark store to get yours as soon as you can before they are all gone. Especially this darling pair of booties for your Baby's First Christmas.

Because our youngest right now is Amelie who is one and the new baby isn't due until April 12, 2010 it doesn't really fit on our tree so I am going to give this one to one of my lucky readers! If you have a 2009 baby who is having their first Christmas this Holiday enter now by Stopping by Hallmark Keepsake Ornaments and telling me one other ornament you would love to have on your tree this year.
