Walgreens Still There For It's Customers

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

In there most recent contract negoations Walgreens and Express Script   failed to come to an agreement leaving those with Express Script employee plans at a loss as to where to go for their prescriptions.  Most having to travel more to get their prescriptions filled and at a higher cost.  Probably because Express Script is trying to get more people to use their mail in prescription program.  Sadly the inconvenience has been to the consumer.

Fortunately Walgreens is not leaving these people out and have created the Walgreens Prescription Savings Club to help them continue to still get the great service and pricing they are used to with Walgreens convenient locations near nearly every home.  Walgreens is offering a special discount on an annual membership for it's Prescription Savings Program for only $10 a year for a family membership which includes spouse and dependents 22 and younger and pets.  An individual may join for only $5 per year to receive Walgreens discount prices on prescriptions.

With more than 8,000 brand-name and all generic medications, discount flu shots, pet prescriptions, nebulizers and diabetic supplies plus the bonuses when you purchase Walgreens brand name products and photofinishing services it's no wonder that Walgreens is loved by so many people.  Help support Walgreens and stay up to date on services by liking Walgreens on Twitter  and following Walgreens on Facebook .

Puppies vs Babies Which Is Cuter?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Puppies vs. Babies for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

PvB-CuteDar-Green-300x250-Backup.jpgThe battle has begin and I'm rooting for the Babies in the  Puppies vs. Babies online contest!  From now until November 23 you have the chance to add your say into who will ultimately be the top baby or top puppy to win.  The winning baby or puppy will get $5,000!  Now that's a nice chunk of change to start a baby's life out right.

Now I've had puppies in my life of course, but as a Grandmother of 12 I can say I still love Babies more!  Yes both are cute and you want to hold and cuddle with both, but there are huge differences that put Babies on the top of my preference list.

First off Babies don't smell bad when you bathe them, let's face it, a wet dog just stinks!  Babies only chew on what you give them not everything that's in your closet.  Yes, both require potty training, but I'd much rather deal with diapers than a puddle or pile on the floor.  And babies are such a joy to teach new things and give back so much more.  A puppy just tilts it's head and gives you that "what?" look.

If it was up to me I would have 20 more grand-babies to cuddle and hold. Hehe!

Be sure to head over and put in your vote for Puppies vs. Babies today.  Who are you voting for?  Let me know if comments if you agree or disagree.

Your Boys Will Love Boy Scouts of America

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Boy Scouts of America for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

AdvertisementNow that schools have started I know your main concern is getting your children a well balanced education, just as it should be.  Having them get involved in Boy Scouts of America along with their school lessons will not only add to their education but give them a sense of who they are and who they can be by providing confidence and respect for themselves and others.

My husband was a boy scout, my son was a boy scout, my nephew was a boy scout and all three treasure their time in the scouts.  Hubby's parents were Scout leaders, Hubby in turn became a Scout leader when our nephew and son became involved in scouting.  The memories they have continue to this day about their adventures, meeting kids from other states, earning badges for accomplishments.

Be A Scout

Boys involved in Boy Scouts of America tend to do better in school; both in grades and in their relationships with other kids and teachers.  They also tend to achieve more in life later on.  Just ask many of those in major offices or political positions who were once involved in Boy Scouts of America.  I'm sure they will be glad to tell you of all their experiences.

Boy Scouts isn't just about camping and tying knots.  Kids learn to be active in life; about how to stay healthy and strong; about building relationships with family and friends; and so much more.  Today's Boys Scouts of America includes involving the boys in technologies that will shape their future.  Boy Scouts is introducing a new curriculum that includes STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  Their are 31 STEM related merit badges, one of which includes Robotics!  Something all boys love!

Whether your boys are involved in Cub Scouting or Boy Scouts you can be assured that Scouting embraces the role of the family teaching boys a wholesome system of values and beliefs that strengthen the family relationships and invites parents to get involved with their children's lives.  Your Boys will love Boy Scouts of America and you will too!

dENIZEN Jeans Stand Up To Work

Living on a small farm jeans are a part of everyday life and we depend on them to be sturdy and lasting a long time, holding up to all the rugged work that needs to be done. Recently I was able to review dENIZEN jeans a new brand available at Target and introduced by Levi Strauss & Company.

Hubby was extremely happy to try them out. He wears jeans everyday and believe me he has worn some brands that were lucky to last a week. Not good. But we were very happy to see that the Levi Strauss standards held up to the quality of these dENIZEN jeans.

We received the 236 regular straight leg jeans in the classic denim blue color. The fit was great and comfortable to work in or play in. With the wonderful double stitching that Levi-Strauss is known for the quality really stood up to the farm work test.

What we liked: Nice big pockets to carry all the necessary things in. Good quality denim, sturdy stitching that should hold up to many wearings and washes. Nice fit. Great pricing that is affordable; just $22.99 at Target.

What we didn't like: Made in Mexico. We are of the opinion that American brand products should be made in America. That's just us.

Overall we were very please with the dENIZEN jeans. Available in sizes and styles for the whole family and at great prices! Great for those families who are getting ready to send kids off to school again. Stop in at Target and see for yourself.

Thanks to Team Mom and dENIZEN jeans for supplying the product for review. All opinions are those of Baba's Farm Life. Others may have different opinions or experiences.

Dehydrating Cabbage

I was never fond of cabbage as a child but I grew to like cooked cabbage in soups and stews. Hubby on the other hand loves coleslaw. Because our garden cabbage did fairly well this season I was able to give a couple away to my daughters family. We enjoyed some for coleslaw for hubby and I decided to dehydrate some for later use in some warm winters soups. Yummy!

Preparation is pretty simple. Wash and remove outer leaves. There are two ways you can cut your cabbage for dehydrating.  You can cut it into one inch cubes to dehydrate or into 1/4" slices as if your were cutting it for coleslaw which is what I did. Be sure to remove the core, it's much tougher and has less flavor. Just give it to the chickens to munch on or put it in your compost pile. Then spread the cabbage strips out on your trays. I use the Excalibur 9 tray dehydrator and I love it!

Set your temperature at 110 to 125 degrees, no higher. I like to set it at 110 and let it run a little longer. 6-`12 hours. Then just store your dehydrated strip in a canning jar on the shelf in your cupboard. You can grab a bit to add right into your soups when needed.

I Hired Blogelina!

After weeks Months of trying to get this blog transferred to my new wordpress self hosted site at JustHost and being disappointed in the help I had, I've finally hired Blogelina.com to do the transfer for me. I was surprised that I got a response right away to get my information so they could begin the process.  And it was so affordable!  Only $85.  I'm taking a big sigh of relief right now.  It's like the weight of the world has been taken off my shoulders.

About the only thing I was able to do by myself is get the WP installed and my GFC transfered over.  I guess that's something.  But after the scare I had with having it hacked the first time I've been afraid to touch it myself.  Thank God for Blogelina!

Carmex in Summer Review & Giveaway!

I love being a member of the Carmex Blog Squad! I get to try all the new flavors of Carmex that come out and right now there are two new Carmex flavors you are going to love! Carmex sent me their new Vanilla moisture lip balm and their new Lime Twist Ultra Moisturizing Lip Balm. So yummy!

In the summertime we need to protect our lips from UV rays and wind damage. Wearing either of these lip balms will do that with an SPF factor of 15, and keep your lips moist with all the moisturizing ingredients of the Carmex lip line. There is nothing worse than having sunburned or windburned lips - ouch! Really puts a damper on the kissing abilities.

I especially liked the Lime Twist! Like having a margarita on a click stick. So good! The Vanilla was fantastic too and who doesn't like the flavor of vanilla? Great protection and you taste like cookies and ice-cream! Well almost anyway. Don't worry, the flavor isn't overpowering so you aren't going to be licking it all off within minutes. It will stay on and protect those delicate lips all summer long.

I also received a Moisture Plus Hydrating Lip Balm with slant tip for easy application; SPF 15 sunscreen protection and vitamin E & Aloe moisturizing protection! Great for these old tired lips! I need to retain all the moisture I can! And with a little satin gloss factor that makes my lips look good in the summertime. I loved it!

You can find any of these Carmex Lip Balm products at Walgreens, Walmart, or CVS so they are easily available.

One more thing I received was a fabulous Carmex Picnic Blanket! All folded up with a little end pouch to carry my lip balms and maybe sunglasses or silverware. The blanket unfolds with one side having a wonderful stripped design in bright colors and the other side a smooth surface for laying on the grass. This side will prevent a lot of the grass pickup that most picnic blankets seem to do, so I loved this! It's also quite large so it will fit all your picnic needs or use it to let baby play on. It's super soft and comfy! Perfect place for an afternoon siesta under a tree.  And it all folds right back up with a hand velcro closure and easy carry handle! Light weight enough that even a toddler could manage it!

You can keep up with all the latest and newest Carmex products on their website and while you are there you might as well click on the send me a free sample button. Each week they send out 50 free samples of their products. A very cool thing to do! And don't forget to check out their facebook page because there is always something going on that is exciting!

Win It! One of my readers will win everything that I received including the picnic blanket thanks to the generosity of Carmex! How cool is that?! All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent Review & Giveaway!

Sponsored by Tomoson.com

We're in the middle of Summer and that means vacation time. To the Lake, camping, the beach; unfortunately that also means bug time. You know those critters that end up biting you all over that itch so terribly. For us living on the farm we get those critters every day. Because I spend most of my time indoors I do run into them too often but hubby on the other hand spends most of his time outdoors and he gets bit up quite often. Enter All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent.

All Terrain was kind enough to send us a bottle of their Herbal Armor Insect Repellent to try out and we're very pleased. Let me explain why.  First is because it's all natural!  Deet Free, this insect repellent is made from natural plant oils- soybean, citronella, peppermint, cedar, lemongrass, and geranium.  No harsh chemicals or that bug killer smell you get from other insect sprays.  All Terrain Herbal is safe to use with children and safe for fabrics which we thought was very cool!

What we like most was that it worked.  It kept the chiggers at bay from eating up hubby while he worked.  Great for mosquitoes too!  Awarded Best Gear by  National Geographic Adventures!  Who would know better with all the outdoor adventures they go on?!  As a prepper family you can bet we are keeping this in our bug out bags.  It's also water and sweat resistant so hubby doesn't sweat it off in five minutes while he's working.  Pretty cool!

Win It!  All Terrain is generously giving one of my readers their own 4 oz. bottle of All Terrain Herbal Armor Insect Repellent to try.  To Enter (required)  Just tell me in comment what is the bug biter you run into in the summer.  Be sure to include a valid email address in your comment or have it readily available in your profile so that I can contact you if you are the winner.
